Raya is ONE!!

Raya turned one on the same day as the Laie Hawaii Temple re-dedication!

We celebrated her birthday after the re-dedication sessions.
We went over to my in-laws to bake the cake and have dinner. David's grandma, Uncle Richie and Lahela came as well as the Furtado's. It was super fun.
Olivia got this "ONE" onesie for Raya for her birthday. Thanks Olivia! Looks super cute!
Here is Raya enjoying her cake and ice cream...although after she had the ice cream she got these red welts/spots by her mouth...we're thinking it might be the ice cream. or a cold rash...
This is Raya opening up her "present" from Anela.
It's actually the sandal that I lost at the CAC the day before at the Cultural Celebration (I'll blog about that later)
We have more pictures...I just didn't upload them yet from the camera. I'll do that later. :D For now, please enjoy the pictures I took from my sister's FB page. :D
I'll also have to blog about my baby's accomplishments and milestones later.

Laie Temple Hours and Info

This was information from my ward Relief Society about some changes regarding temple sessions:

The day is almost here, the temple WILL BE OPEN ON TUESDAY, November 23.

We just wanted to inform you of the temple schedule.

There will be a session EVERY HOUR on the hour starting at 7AM till 8PM on Tuesday- Friday (except for 3pm). Saturdays' schedule starts at 6AM till 1PM.

The CHANGE though is that you need to call the temple (293-2427) ahead of time to RSVP for one of the sessions. The understanding is that you will not be able to just "show up" to go to a session.

We hope this information will assist you in having an enjoyable temple experience!

Cheung family reunion

Back in August: My parents were in Hawaii dropping my little sister off at BYUH.
My brother came too. Our whole family hasn't been all together since 2005.

All the Cheungs

EVERYBODY! We went from shortest to tallest

He took some pictures

I was going through my pictures and I found this picture...plus 34 more!
This is the first one...

...and this is the last one.

I just thought it was super funny...the thing he gets into.

Doctor

Aaron at the doctor's office talking to the nurse - "I'm Aaron. I'm not a doctor."
Then to the doctor: "I'm not a doctor. You're a doctor. I'm Aaron."
Funny little guy says random things and does random faces like in this pic:

This is Raya sitting with one of the YW in our ward at cultural celebration practice last night. I guess she wants to be in it too! Sorry Raya, you have to be between 12-18 years of age. ;P

We have a THREE year old?!

November 1, 2010
Time sure has gone by fast! Aaron's THREE!
We got him a little Cars table and chairs and set it up the night before.

I also put on the table the cars I told him I threw away a couple months ago.
When he woke up, he came into the room and asked David if he could play with the cars on the table. David replied of course and informed Aaron that the table was also his. Aaron was super happy and said happily, "Thanks Dad!!!"

We kept telling Aaron that he was 3 but he wasn't convinced. He kept insisting he was two.
He did know it was his birthday, he would say, "Happy Birthday ta ME!!" and say "THANKS!!" when people would wish him a happy birthday.

We went over to Hauula to bake the cake since we don't have a regular oven.
We went out to Papa Ole's for his birthday dinner. The burgers and fries were yummy!!

While waited for our food, Aaron and David took some photos together! Funny boys!

Afterwards we went back to the house to decorate the cake. Aaron's cousins came over, enjoyed ice cream and cake, and helped him open his presents!

By the end of the night, he finally got it and held up those 3 fingers!

More pictures still need to be uploaded and will be coming to this blog soon. (hopefully sooner than later!!)

Bike adventure #1

This happened the week of Halloween on Tuesday. I was riding the bike to work and I noticed it was taking a lot more energy than usual to pedal. I look at my tires and everything looks fine. The tire just looks like it's spreading because I'm using it. I keep biking and this is my thought process as I ride.

(Keep checking the front tire)
It does look a little flat...keep pedaling...(I cross the bridge in Kahuku right before the little Catholic church and look down at the front tire). Oh no! It's getting more flat! (I get to the Catholic church, look down again to check) and it's FLAT!! ugh! (I get off the bike and start walking to the high school. Glad it's not that far.

At recess I go to the PE locker room and my friends, Andrew and James, help me pump my tires back up.
At the end of lunch, the front tire is flat again!
Thankfully David came and picked me up after school!

Fast forward to Tuesday.
James K came by with the green Slime that he told me about on Monday. The Slime was to help me fix the tube without having to buy another one.
David helped me fix it and now it's all good!
But as I rode my bike on Thursday, I was (and still am) paranoid about my front tire.

Biking adventure #2 and #3

I thought it wouldn't be that bad and the sun was kinda peeking out but nope. HUGE puddles!!
I need fenders. It was so muddy and avoiding the water on the road was harder than I thought!

I got mud all over my legs and arms!!
And my back...

When I came home that day, I found this at the door!

Thank you!! To whoever did this!!
#3
It actually helped me out today! (11.5.10) I ended up riding home in the pouring rain!
Riding in the rain + glasses = foggy lenses, stung eyes, NOT FUN! I laughed as I rode home because it was such a comical situation!! There were some points where I couldn't see and had to look OVER my glasses. I had to run through puddles or risk getting hit by the cars.
(It's days like this when I wish we could afford contact lenses...and rent...and bills.... But that's besides the point.)
