Pass The Pigs

Aaron got the first snouter in the game, Pass the Pigs, and he won the two games he played in with David, me and my mother in law.

David got the first Leaning Jowler in the game!

Pass The Pigs is a pretty fun game!
I also love that even Aaron could play!As long as there is someone (David) to add the scores, all ages can participate!)

THAT'S where he gets it from!!

Guess where Aaron gets his funny poses from?!

Granted the second pose of David's was posed but he does make funny faces! Aaron definitely got it from him!

Merry Christmas 2010

Merry Christmas!!
I really thought this would be the year that we'd mail out Christmas cards but life got in the way and we're going to do an electronic version. again. ;D

If you've been following our blog, then you'd know it hasn't really been updated on a regular basis. That being said, here's a quick annual update on each of us.
Aaron
He's our funny boy. He loves taking pictures and making weird poses. He poses himself and it's just hilarious seeing what he comes up with. He loves to learn. He likes to watch PBS Kids and can sing most of the theme songs and recite lines from the shows. He loves Super Why and his new favorite, Cat in the Hat. He is still into Cars. He's a smart cookie too. He knows most of the sounds of the letters of the alphabet and likes to "do homework" (which is basically him writing in a notebook or any piece of paper). He is very articulate and amazes us with his complete sentences and insights. He is potty trained but still has issues with waking up and realizing he has to pee. All in all, he's still awesome and keeps us on our toes.
Raya
She amazes us everyday with how smart she is. She's very observant and likes to do what everyone else is doing. She likes to eat Aaron's food and sneaks her hand into his bowl while he's not looking. She likes to "write", hold the pen/pencil in her hand, grabs any piece of paper and writes. and then sticks the pen in her mouth. She likes to wear her sandals around the house. She's sneaky and when she has something she's not supposed to and we catch her in the act, she'll try to run away before we take it away from her. She'll look at you and sidestep or run! It's so funny. She likes to play with Aaron's cars and even makes the car noise. She also likes to hug and kiss her stuffed animals. She likes to climb on the couch, chairs, stools and just sit. Sometimes, she'll lean on something and put her head back and just chill there for a second. She is curious and likes to put everything in her mouth. She can hold her own too. Aaron will sit on her, hug her, carry her and she takes it all in stride. Unless of course, she doesn't like it, then she'll make a fuss. Raya "talks" a lot more than Aaron did at his age. She doesn't sign a whole lot but still manages to tell us what she wants...most of the time.

David and Carol
David is staying at home watching the kids. He plays basketball 3x/week. He was our ward Activities Chair but since that calling got dissolved, he is now serving as the Sunday School Secretary. He put on a really awesome Trunk or Treat and Christmas party. Everyone had fun and loved the activities. Carol is teaching special education social studies and just passed the SPED Praxis. Now hopefully I can start being a teacher on probationary status working towards tenure instead of just being a temporary teacher. I'm training to run in the Great Aloha Run in February. I really want to get back into running. Thankfully, David rides the bike with Aaron and Raya in the bike trailer so I can focus.
We have had an awesome year and can't wait for what the new year brings!
Hope you're all doing well and hope you have an awesome holiday!

Vapur - the anti water bottle

My friend Kelly had one of these at church the other day. It's a collapsible water bottle.
They're called Vapur and you can read/see all about it here.

I love this! I love the idea of having a water bottle that folds so I can always have a water bottle with me.
They have it in all different colors. It's so awesome! I want to throw away all my other water bottles to just to get these for my family!
So...does anyone want my water bottles? ;)

Chairs and Raya

Raya, lately, has been really into climbing onto chairs and stools to sit on them.

Or she sits on them and then stands up on the chair. And dances. Or just smiles at you like she's just done climbing Mt. Everest.

And then she gets stuck.

She gets on the chair, sits, and then realizes she can't get herself down. So she whines and cries until we help her down.

She's so silly!

Aaron is "reading"

We're in line at Subway getting our sandwiches. Aaron sees a bag of chips and points to it, "Look Mom! (slides finger across the word "sun chips") woords!"

Carol: "Actually Aaron, it's S-U-N, sun."
Aaron: "Ooh. S-U-N, (slides finger across the word "sun chips" again) Su...per Why!"

At least he knows that "Super Why" starts with an S-U...

This picture has nothing to do with reading. It's just a nice picture of Aaron. :)

Siblings

Aaron reading to Raya

Raya listening with her favorite (and only) shoes on.

She walks up to David with a sandal and asks to put it on and just walks around the house. One time, she only had one sandal and couldn't find the other but she was perfectly happy just wearing the one.

Random Raya

Raya drinking out of her silly cup! I just think she's super cute! Finally drinking out of her own cup!

It's been cold (yes, it gets cold in Hawaii) and I put the hood on Raya and she didn't take it off! I love it!

Sometimes Raya randomly lays down wherever she is and just chills for a little bit.

She's really good at the Asian squat.

Raya is ONE!!

Raya turned one on the same day as the Laie Hawaii Temple re-dedication!

We celebrated her birthday after the re-dedication sessions.
We went over to my in-laws to bake the cake and have dinner. David's grandma, Uncle Richie and Lahela came as well as the Furtado's. It was super fun.
Olivia got this "ONE" onesie for Raya for her birthday. Thanks Olivia! Looks super cute!
Here is Raya enjoying her cake and ice cream...although after she had the ice cream she got these red welts/spots by her mouth...we're thinking it might be the ice cream. or a cold rash...
This is Raya opening up her "present" from Anela.
It's actually the sandal that I lost at the CAC the day before at the Cultural Celebration (I'll blog about that later)
We have more pictures...I just didn't upload them yet from the camera. I'll do that later. :D For now, please enjoy the pictures I took from my sister's FB page. :D
I'll also have to blog about my baby's accomplishments and milestones later.

Laie Temple Hours and Info

This was information from my ward Relief Society about some changes regarding temple sessions:

The day is almost here, the temple WILL BE OPEN ON TUESDAY, November 23.

We just wanted to inform you of the temple schedule.

There will be a session EVERY HOUR on the hour starting at 7AM till 8PM on Tuesday- Friday (except for 3pm). Saturdays' schedule starts at 6AM till 1PM.

The CHANGE though is that you need to call the temple (293-2427) ahead of time to RSVP for one of the sessions. The understanding is that you will not be able to just "show up" to go to a session.

We hope this information will assist you in having an enjoyable temple experience!

My brother came too. Our whole family hasn't been all together since 2005.

All the Cheungs

EVERYBODY! We went from shortest to tallest

He took some pictures

I was going through my pictures and I found this picture...plus 34 more!
This is the first one...

...and this is the last one.

I just thought it was super funny...the thing he gets into.

Doctor

Aaron at the doctor's office talking to the nurse - "I'm Aaron. I'm not a doctor."
Then to the doctor: "I'm not a doctor. You're a doctor. I'm Aaron."
Funny little guy says random things and does random faces like in this pic:

This is Raya sitting with one of the YW in our ward at cultural celebration practice last night. I guess she wants to be in it too! Sorry Raya, you have to be between 12-18 years of age. ;P

We have a THREE year old?!

November 1, 2010
Time sure has gone by fast! Aaron's THREE!
We got him a little Cars table and chairs and set it up the night before.

I also put on the table the cars I told him I threw away a couple months ago.
When he woke up, he came into the room and asked David if he could play with the cars on the table. David replied of course and informed Aaron that the table was also his. Aaron was super happy and said happily, "Thanks Dad!!!"

We kept telling Aaron that he was 3 but he wasn't convinced. He kept insisting he was two.
He did know it was his birthday, he would say, "Happy Birthday ta ME!!" and say "THANKS!!" when people would wish him a happy birthday.

We went over to Hauula to bake the cake since we don't have a regular oven.
We went out to Papa Ole's for his birthday dinner. The burgers and fries were yummy!!

While waited for our food, Aaron and David took some photos together! Funny boys!

Afterwards we went back to the house to decorate the cake. Aaron's cousins came over, enjoyed ice cream and cake, and helped him open his presents!

By the end of the night, he finally got it and held up those 3 fingers!

More pictures still need to be uploaded and will be coming to this blog soon. (hopefully sooner than later!!)
