Thanks to Twitter we got some Eclipse tickets for opening night at Ward Theaters.
David got a tweet from Power 104.3, a hip hop station here in the islands, about Eclipse tickets. All he had to do was go to 7-11 in Hauula, buy TWO LARGE Slurpees and you'd get one ticket to Eclipse. So of course we bought 4 Slurpees to get the 2 tickets. His mom and some of his sisters did the same thing.
Opening night David, his sisters, Pii and Mailani, and I left for Ward around 10pm. When we got there the line went all the way to the Nordstrom/Office Depot parking lot!! (which also happened to be where we just parked!)
Luckily, while the 3 discovered how long the line was, I looked for someone to ask where people with tickets from Power 104.3 were supposed to line up. I was told that we could just walk in! WHAT?! So I called them to let them know we could go right on in and didn't have to wait in the HUGE-MUNGOUS line!!
There was a theatre reserved for the radio station. We got goody 7-11/Slurpee bags as we went to find our seats. Inside was a calculator, a USB hub, a $10 gift card to the theatre which we promptly used to get snacks or the movie.
While we were all waiting for the premiere to start, some of the station's DJ's entertained us with contests. The first one was with Taka an the first person to run up to finish the lyrics of the sing win. The first song was "Baby" by Justin Bieber. (this happened to be one of Raya's songs) People were shouting the right words but no one was running so I ran up there with Raya and won a beach ball! Whoo hoo!! What I really wanted was the two combined camping chairs with umbrella! Which I didn't get...
It was lots of fun and the movie was excellent and I think the closest one to the book out of the other 2 movies. I really liked the battle scenes too.
Thank you Power 104.3 for an awesome night!
