Mother's Day 2013

This Mother's Day was low key and I was well fed. David & I don't really give each other gifts. One, because I STINK at getting David a gift that he actually wanted or liked and two, we really show out love for each other through food. Which is probably why we look the way we do :)

David woke up earlier & made breakfast. (We had just gotten bacon from Costco since it was on sale.)
Eggs, rice, salsa, Korean seaweed and BACON. Yum. Thanks David! It was so filling! I could barely move after!
David got these Magnum ice cream bars for me not knowing I've always wanted to try them! (I follow them on Instagram and it always looks so good!) The double chocolate was so rich and so good!
This was the card Aaron made for me at school. It cracked me up! Can you tell food is an important part of our family? :)
Laie 4th Ward passed out the Hershey's bars with the special label. The primary kids went up and sang for the mothers' and passed out roses. Raya really wanted the rose but I really wanted to get rid of it. I don't really like real flowers since I feel bad when they die and end up throw away and then if I dry them, I end up throwing it away anyway. But we kept it for a little bit anyway.
We went over to my in-laws for dinner after David made this delicious beef and cream of mushroom sauce with green beans. (David should really make dinner more often.)
Thanks for the great Mother's Day!! I definitely felt loved!
Now what should I get David for Father's Day?

Rewind: Easter 2012

Thanks Miki and the Willing Ohana for inviting us to have an Easter Egg Hunt with your family.
We did not have Easter baskets so I taped some Easter cutouts on a jack-o-lantern basket.
It worked! Super lame but it worked and held the eggs! The kids had fun.

Raya holding the cute towel bunnies Aaron received from his primary teacher, N. Galeai.
I don't know why she's making weird faces!
Happy Easter!

April 2012-ish?

Totally trying to clear my phone of old pics. This is a super old pic! Look at how long Aaron's hair is and how short Raya's hair is!

Bubbles
Showing odd their toys
Eating Mac & Cheese
Pretty sure I took these pics cuz they were pounding it! ...maybe.
Olivia took this of Raya one might after a bath.
L4 Mutual. Stream started sticking pencils in Raya's hair.
They (the other girls) thought it was hilarious!

Playing catch up on the blog!

Sunday, Raya & Sunbeams

I love this girl so much. This was all her! I just copied her facial! She cracks me up!

Last Sunday, May 5, 2013, on the way out the door to church, Raya stopped me and insisted that I change to dress like her. I'm just glad Olivia left me this yellow dress so I could dress like Raya!
Did I tell you I'm not in Young Women's (as of November 2012) anymore? I can't remember since I need to update this blog more. I teach Sunbeams now. I also have 12. I'm just really glad I have someone else in there to help me!
Sometimes it can be really frustrating teaching 12 little Sunbeams and sometimes it can be really fun. I miss YW but I know that I belong in Sunbeams and I'm supposed to be teaching them.

Parts of April 2013

Raya was small kine sick and got me really sick. I was out of school for TWO days. Wednesday, I started feeling really crappy. I had a headache, runny nose, cough. I am surprised I even got home from work on my bike Wednesday afternoon. I literally wanted to fall over and just lay on the side of the road.
Thursday - I literally could not get out of bed. I was burning up and David almost didn't even believe me. I stayed in bed all day and got up to eat something, just to get some food in my body. (I'm not even sure saimin is counted as real food.) Friday, I got out of bed just to see Aaron get his Super Citizen certificate.

Here's Raya all sick and sleeping.
Sunday we had stake conference and I almost didn't go but I decided to get my body out of bed and I'm glad I did.
There was a youth choir and it was amazing! It gave me chills listening to them sing! The speakers were what I needed to hear!

Some pancit & lumpia my friend and neighbor gave us. I love pancit!

Went to David's friend's wedding & saw David's cousin's husband who was part of the wedding line. (This picture was taken by Aaron.)

Saw our friends the Gancinia's.
Newlyweds smushing came in each other's faces!
The AMAZING food!

This was just some part of April.
Gonna start updating the blog more often!

Raya's in Preschool!

We have so much to catch up on! First we'll start with Raya and preschool.

She turned three in November and received a Kamehameha preschool scholarship so she was able to get into Bright Beginning preschool in Hauula at the beginning of second semester in January. It's all day, every day and she loves it.

I love that she loves it. She was so ready to go to school. She was always asking when she could go to school since Aaron started Kindergarten.

The other pictures of her actually IN school were courtesy of one her teachers who we happen to be friends with.

Apparently she loves to play dress up and play with her friends. She's learning her abc's and numbers as well as how to write her name and letters. She's getting the hang of it but I'm not too worried about her progress since she'll probably be in preschool for another 2 years.

(They might have a rule change in the upcoming years where your child has to be five years old by the time school starts and since she has a late birthday, she'll have to wait a whole year. I really hope they don't change it but we shall see.)

She's made lots of new friends, learning and when she's learned a new song, she'll come home and sing it all the time. It's te cutest thing ever! I might be a bit biased but I love when she sings the songs she's learned!

Running Fail

Trying to go for a 3 mile run while the kids rode their bikes was not one of my best ideas by far.

I couldn't really do anything since Raya would start crying if I went too far ahead and Aaron probably would have given up halfway on the bike path anyway. Sigh.

I ended up just running around the church parking lot while they rode their bikes ad I didn't have to worry too much about their safety.

Aaron got bored at one point so I raced him from one end of the parking lot to the other and then he stopped trying when it looked like I was about to win. He's so competitive. Gotta work on that "you gotta be ok when you lose" side of things.

Happy New Year!! It's 2013!

That was fast! I can't believe it's already 2013!!

We went over to my in-laws in Hauula for a New Year's Eve get-together with some family and friends to ring in the new year. It was loads of fun!
There was lots of food to enjoy, games to play and company to joke with.

Apples to Apples, one of the many games we played! Loads of fun!

Grandpa Larry and Raya

Our first picture of 2013 together!
David's cousin, Carolyn, offered to take a picture for us and Raya totally jumped in!
David and Amanda posing as zombies.
We took a family picture with his mom. (Thank you Aaron for standing in front of me and covering my belly!)
Happy New Year to your family from ours! We wish you all the best and may we all follow through with our resolutions!
(My eyes look super Asian in this picture or I look really tired but I really think it's because of the bright flash! and yes, most likely also because of my Asian-ness. hehe)

I have some New Year resolutions but that might possibly be another post since I haven't actually narrowed them down! What are some of your resolutions?

Rewind: Christmas 2012

Our stockings from Santa!

Oh Christmas tree!
Presents under the tree!

Kids are excited about their chairs and can't wait to open the rest of the gifts!

David got a Hulk cup from his sister Pii and her family.

David's loot

He asked Santa for a "big car truck" and asked for a blue one! (He likes red so we were surprised when he asked for blue)

Aaron's loot! Looks like Santa delivered!
Raya's goodies. Like all that pink?! Such a girl! Plus she got a bike from Santa!

Carol's goodies!
Happy Christmas!

Red Dawn

We went to an advanced screening of Red Dawn last night at Dole Cannery in Honolulu.

Outside waiting in line at Dole Cannery
Since it was sponsored by a radio station, there were little contests to win shirts and/or posters. I won a shirt for having lip gloss (but it was more like lip balm but the guy accepted it and no one else went up for it either!) David won a shirt too for having an iPhone 5 and being the first one up to the guy. Sweet! I love going to advanced screenings and winning stuff! It's all about having no shame! Haha!

It was a pretty good movie. There was a guy behind us who made comments every so often but they were hilarious and I didn't mind. It's what we were thinking, he just said it out loud!

If you want to know what I, Carol, thought of it, check out my review on my other blog, mediajunkieinhawaii.blogspot.com, which I try to update every so often :)
